Were back again with the 12 best recent melodic releases…

Eli Baltsan and Felix Nagorsky of Weekend Heroes are well renowned for their many notable imprints in the progressive house, techno and psychedelic realms. With an impressive back catalogue of tunes on various labels both as a duo and their own solo projects, it was just a matter of time till they dropped something on IbogaTech. ‘Apollo’ is a smooth amalgamation of the genre-defying productions that come to life in the Weekend Heroes studio.

John Cosani’s taste can be appreciated in his full discography as well as in his dj sets and his radioshow Cubik where he shows why he’s considered as one of the trendiest progressive house artists coming from the hotbed of Buenos Aires. Opening his new Sudbeat release with ‘Vectoria’, layers of percussive hats and sonics combine to create a warm, inviting sound. Later, developing melodic lines take over and the track becomes transcendental. Next up, ‘Sirio’ takes a deeper path. Harder edged percussion drives the track as pads and sweeps add atmosphere. The main hook is melancholic and thoughtful, meandering toward the break before fading into ethereal voices. Finally, ‘Airplane’ hits home. A tough bass groove organically grows tension and drama through well designed layers culminating in a powerful peak time bruiser. One for the late floors.

We welcome back Sean & Dee to the label with their new single ‘Sea Turtle’ featuring remixes from Andy King and Mila Journée. The plucky Italian duo had a great 2019 with tracks signed to Outta Limits and Natura Viva among others and struck gold with a Beatport top 10 for FSOE UV. Their single-minded dedication to progressive music is also winning them many high-profile fans, and we very much expect their sonic journey to take a massive upswing this year.

‘Sea Turtle’ is essential dancefloor weaponry. Upbeat and musical, the thundering kicks ushering in a mammoth tune. With bass fully engaged, the sonics begin; twisted sweeps, an epic pad and rhythm line, and later, acid, all working together to create a warm and inviting playground in your mind. Andy King opts for a deeper rendition, cooling down the originals epic overtones and focusing on the emotional content for those earlier warm up moments.

Abstract Space Records is set to make another mark in 2020 with a new breed of artists on its roster. Debuting on the colossal label is the famous Belarusian progressive producer ‘Michael A’, who unveils his dark progressive slice ‘Lunar Eclipse’. This one is a top-notch club weapon to munch on! Not to be Missed!

Our next release marks a welcome return to the label of Slovak super talent Ri Za ! The title track “Shinobi” is a deep and throbbing progressive affair with a sinister bassline and some growling darker stabs that lead the way to the more gentle piano notes and twisted stabs and haunting male spoken vocals. On “Dreamer” Ri Za partners up with Kaddy to deliver an epic journey through progressive beats and epic pads and strings along with evolving synth lines and the balearic guitar lick that really are perfect for any dreamy journey on the dancefloor.

Igor Carmo brings his emotional and progressive house sound to 1980 Recordings with his tracks ‘Aguia’ & ‘Horizonte’. If you love the ‘NOM’ (Barcelona) & ‘WooMoon’ (Ibiza) vibes you will love the melodic and hypnotic sounds of Igor Carmo.
