To start off the week we have some the greatest melodic tracks from the past week…

Paul Deep returns with more signature sounds on the ‘Arishem’ EP. It’s been nearly a year since the sensational ‘Dogma EP’ came out and in that time Paul Deep has continued to astound and entertain. His trademark style enveloping the listener in a warm blanket of melancholy angst which never lets go. Basing all the tracks on iconic cartoon characters from US and Japanese counter-culture, first up is ‘Arishem’, a sleepy beast of a tune that slowly awakens into a monster. Deep and satisfying, the kicks open the track up as melodics creep into earshot. Next is ‘Ashema’ follows on apace. Emotional mind music for the soul. Marvel-ous! Finally, ‘Dohku’ weaves its sonic tale. Upbeat and engaging, the melodically rich layers create a tapestry of sound and emotion.

The debut single EP on Barbur Music by the label boss is a deep journey into melodic atmospheres, features stirring melodies, atmospheric textures and groovy vibes. “With this track I wanted to get out of my sound, to can explore new musical horizons, while always remaining within the electronic and techno genre, of course.
I think that an artist should never close into one single musical genre, but explore, experiment, give space to their creativity, without upset himself too much, of course.
The lockdown in this case brought out a part of me that I didn’t know yet. Working on Lowliness was a long and deep introspective journey into myself”.

‘Atlantida’ is the brand-new throbbing club burner from ‘Two Sins’. Whether it’s the deeply delicious uplifting melodies and dramatic strings of ‘Atlantida’, there can be no denying that the Two Sins is on a roll. His distinctive style and attention to detail marks him out, as having unique creative talent. For the full-length release, we are treated to stunning reworks from non-other than Marius Drescher & Schwarzmatt. We kick things off with original track, which brings a fusion of deep bass tones, subtle drum programming and cleverly chopped samples and intricately weaved chord progressions, building to a beautiful breakdown before gradually rebuilding the elements to an unrelenting crescendo of breathy drum licks, chord stabs and an ever-warped bassline to close out this massive production. Cool stuff!

With her brand new ‘Pearly Gates EP’ we welcome SUZé to ICONYC Noir. The German producer has started to accumulate a nice little curriculum of releases, with her last releases on MIR Music & Beatfreak amongst others. Upon her debut on ICONYC Noir she delivers 2 outstanding tracks to get any dancefloor moving. To start us off, SUZé lets rip with the melodic soundscapes of the title track ‘Pearly Gates’. Her influences are immediately evident as subtle freeform concepts drift through percussive inspired instrumentations. Rippling melodies trip along a deep kick that anchors an auricular montage to create a special sonic infused moment, accompanied by a subtle acid line that is going to leave a mark on your aural perception.

Another genre-bustingly epic 3 track EP from the techno tunesmiths Bennun & Healey as they continue to set new standards in club sounds: ‘Borderless’, inspired by the sprawling interactive digital art space in Tokyo of the same name, sets up an effortless groove before a sea of rising resonant frequencies unleash the undeniably-urgent tribal shuffle that Benun & Healey have made their own. ‘Geysir’ washes across the sound system like an acid flashback: dreamy unresolved melodies rachet up the heat before the bass-line erupts like an Icelandic volcano. The phasing intro of ‘Leave Them All Behind’ dissolves into the most hypnotic of deep techno workouts as Tim’s hauntingly melancholic vocals float across the stereo-field conjuring a sense of sonic security before the tune morphs into a speaker-throttling sonic pandaemonium underpinned by the most psychedelic of grooves.

EDLands who hails from Russia debuts on the label with ‘Blue Water’. It is a brilliant sonic affair with a mesmerizing deep bassline and flows flawlessly with majestic synths to puff out the progressive smoke all around you. Featured earlier on 3XA, Mistique Music, OLD SQL Recordings, and Pineapple Digital he has been a regular force in the progressive scene. This one not to be missed!

Label owners Dekkai return to Asra after a string of releases on Colorize, Tronic, and ICONYC to deliver a blistering Progressive House tune built for the dance floor. Driving rhythmic and groovy beats set the foundation for a blissful chord progression which arrives announcing an infectious melody and an ethereal break down.
