Today we have some of the tech releases from the past week that have been making some noise…
With “Hollaback Girl”, Dot N Life showed that they could take a populist vocal and give it the kind of cutting-edge underground bump that would see it feature on the playlists of the world’s coolest DJs. Likewise, with “Pon De Replay”, Jen Payne proved she was no slouch with a monster topline. What could be better, we thought, than putting these two astute DJ/producers together with another much-loved song? Well, we are about to find out! On “London Bridge”, the Irish/Italian combo has taken on one of Fergie’s dancefloor favourites and smashed it out of the park. Raw, jacking tech beats provide the punch, while a brilliant, funky-yet-wonky bassline delivers the swing, and our recreation of Fergie’s sultry song does the rest. Big banger!
303Lovers is the spawn of a musical design by Manuel De La Mare, Luigi Rocca and Alex Kenji. Rooted in three tiers of electronic music, those being tech house, techno and electronica, the label symbolises a soundscape that has melted away boundaries, ventured into crossover and retained underground status, whilst continually proliferating its musical direction to ensure it is on the cutting edge of electronic music.
This time a collaboration with none other than the biggest French DJ Duo Amine Edge & DANCE.
Sailing a deep sea, changing textures between glitches and samples on a 17th century ship, “Von Krup” presents “Interstak”, a combination of dub and minimal house with a rich sound palette that will appeal to those wandering ears.
