Alex O’Rion returns to the label with the sensational ‘Castle In The Sky’ EP.
Alex’s influence on the modern scene is significant. Ranked Top 3 selling producer on Beatport during Covid ravaged 2020, plus a regular 25 thousand listeners tuning in on streaming platforms, the Dutch maestro has come a long way since experimenting in his childhood bedroom as a teenager. Now signed to all the important labels, Alex’s tracks soundtrack club nights the world over.
Opening with ‘Castle In The Sky’, a chuggy mid-set bubbler, skippy hats and rubbery bass form the undercarriage on which Alex lays out orchestral pads, keyed hooks and upbeat feels. Piano nuances in the break add yet more class to this classy groover. Tribal rhythms get ‘Avalanche’ off to a flying start. Hypnotising from the off, melodic elements take their time to fade into earshot, but once there, fill out the track effortlessly. Delicate and thoughtful, critical mass is reached in the break where the drop brings boundless energy and soul.
After a great success with their previous releases on Area Verde we are glad to welcome back High On Mars with their new single ‘Mavors’ on December the 10th!

Imar’s latest EP kicks off with ‘Dreamer’ – a relaxed, mid-tempo track that moves steadily forward led by the timeless words of Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I have a Dream” speech. Track two maintains the EPs overall flair of smoothness and cool composure, but transitions the atmosphere towards melody rich synth lines and a hint of those always ear pleasing eastern soundscapes.
The Colombian collaboration of Kamilo Sanclemente and Carol Brown and their brainchild ‘Spirals Inflections’ rounds out our label’s list of exclusive releases this year.

With ‘Gaia’ we welcome Ätherisch for his long-awaited debut on ICONYC Noir. Aätherisch delivers a slice of warm, pulsating club vibes. The track kicks things off nicely with its melancholic moodiness shining through as we meander effortlessly through club inspired melodies, while the sultry bassline sits wonderfully on top, adding an extra layer of depth and class. ‘Gaia’ means business and it is evident with every step of the way. Essential stuff!
On remix duty we are very excited to welcome Astral Base who also marks his debut on the label with a classy remix for the ages. The Russian producer who is known for his deep melodic progressive influenced sounds, keeps the ethereal theme of the original alive. It’s all about the groove, cool house vibes and the deep driving beats that are working their magic around Astral Base’s wonderfully arranged keys and the wonderful use of elements on offer. Astral Base once again has reminded us with his classy rework why we are so fond of him.
Next up we welcome Evegrem to the label with a gem of a remix. His purely deep progressive rework grabs you from the word go. Interspersing filtered stabs and a stunning groove which beautifully leads into a drop full of tension and excitement are the name of the game. The understated yet driving bassline powers the groove along, as Evegrem keeps the energy up, allowing the driving melodic house feel to shine thru over the many layers and textures to create a beautiful soundscape to round off this classy underground crowd pleaser.
