To start off the week we have some the greatest melodic tracks from the past week…
November the 19th meet artist from Argentina Orange JD to deliver his two tracks release “Black List” to 15th imprint of Pillar Records Label founded by Radio Intense in collaboration with Miss Monique
With ‘Oblivion’ we’re excited to welcome Der Effekt and Tygr Tygr to ICONYC featuring a couple of fantastic remixes courtesy of Marat Mode and David Lindmer. The Austrian duo have developed a universally loved unique style; dynamic, groovy, deep and hypnotic fusion of genres that perfectly fits in any kind of club or open-air festival. Their releases have always received high acclaim – with support across the board from the who is who is in the world of electronic music.
For ‘Oblivion’ Der Effekt teamed up with vocalist Tygr Tygr to deliver an irresistible track that will make you move. They kick things off nicely with driving vibes and pounding beats, as they roam effortlessly through melodic rhythms. The energetic chords which are introduced half way through sit wonderfully on top of the driving percussive foundation. As we reach the climax ‘Der Effekt’ increase the dynamism once again by adding an extra layer of complexity. They up the flow with cleverly programmed drumming and melodic chord elements, all while Tyge Tygr adds the final touches with his deep and sultry voice. ‘Oblivion’ deserves to be branded elemental in any sense of the word.
On remix duty we welcome Spanish maestro Marat Mode for his debut on ICONYC. Marat Mode who is known for his driving melodic sound with indie dance influences, keeps the ethereal theme of the original alive. He created a deep melodic indie mix for the ages. His rework creates a feel-good vibe from the word go, as the atmospheric and driving vibes keep you moving. His remix delivers a smooth edge and nicely effected sounding components that keep building to culminate into a lovely melodic indie groover, that was clearly made with the dancefloor in mind. Very classy.
The second remix comes courtesy of Running Clouds head honcho David Lindmer, whose massive remix takes the energy capacities up a level and increases the drive with stripped back and lucid elements, while transporting ‘Oblivion’ to the dark side. Like something from yesteryear yet sounding totally renewed and upfront. David basically delivers the formula for a bit of a monumental outing. The sparseness in David’s rework is the key here, as this restrained gem plays out the potential to the fullest, while creating a stunning afterglow of deep infused drums and harmonies. Essential stuff from David.
With the talent on offer, ‘Der Effekt feat Tygr Tygr’s ‘Oblivion’ manages to deliver a message of sustained musical relevance in emphatic fashion to warm the soul. Not to be missed! ‘Oblivion’ sees a worldwide release on November 19th, 2021 via all well-known digital content providers. Not to be missed!
After a great success with his previous releases on Area Verde, we are glad to welcome back Da Fresh with his new single ‘Symmetric Love’ on November the 19th
Classic progressive trance elements meet modern psytechno construction in Unified Fields. Boundless and R3cycle weave an emotive journey characterised by melody driven synths interspersed with palpable, organic soundscapes. On the flipside we shift focus from the glossy melodic approach of the original to a more beat driven Weekend Heroes rendition.
Hobin Rude has been making waves in the last year with a bunch of superb releases on some of progressive house leading labels and this time around he delivers an outstanding debut release titled “Dispar”
The main track “Dispar” is built around the crisp and driving groove and potent bass line while some haunting synth lines drop into the mix and build up the tension along with the atmospheric effects and spaced out soundscapes.
The second offering here is “Profunde” which takes us on a deeper journey with its more percussive driven groove and pulsating bass line along with more gentle synth riffs and heavily effected vocal snippets to create a hypnotic vibe throughout the track.
