To start off the week we have some the greatest melodic tracks from the past week…

Kassey Voorn has been a mainstay of the Greek Underground scene for over 10 years collecting gigs around the globe with the cream of the DJ elite. Signed to legendary imprints such as Cocoon and Bedrock, his smooth sound is the envy of his peers as it’s shown once again in this brand new Sudbeat release.

‘Party Bots’ is classic Kassey Voorn. Silky beats and warm deep house stylings framework the evolving melodics as the track develops into a mid-set stomper with soul. Perfect for returning to dance floors after so long asunder. ‘Skyline’ goes deeper still. Warm analogue goodness and deep sonics keep the track ticking along as its tale is told in the most wondrous and understated way.

After a great success with his previous releases on Area Verde, we are glad to welcome back Andrewboy with his new single ‘Heart Beat’ followed by High On Mars remix on November the 12th

Brian Atwood has done it again, created a musical masterpiece. This lovely tribute to the late Jeffrey Cohen, will immortalize Jeff forever. My Heart is a tribute Brian dedicated to his friend and we here at Homewerx Music contributed to the tribute. Jeff, may your memory be a blessing. 4/18/77 – 8/24/21 RIP.

With ‘Kult’ we welcome The DARA to ICONYC Noir. She treats us with a brand-new track that oozes class and sophistication. ‘Kult’ features rich driving textures; as well as euphoric and moody deep house vibes to satisfy ambient, uplifting and feel-good needs, which are the keywords for this beautiful and extraordinary release.

The DARA opens proceedings with his smashing original mix. Her musical development is in full swing, interspersed subtle effective percussion, accompanied by profound floaty grooves and indie influences lead the way. Utilizing the hypnotizing groove, underpinned by a rumbling bass that gradually eases its way to the breakdown, before unleashing into a rising melodic hook intertwined with the infectious groove that fades in and out for maximum effect.

The first remix comes courtesy of Arnaud Cordova & Julian Rodriguez; which hits all the right chords from the word go. The duo’s deep entry merged the roomy glowing drive, filtered stabs and stunning groove which beautifully led into a drop full of tension and excitement, while the understated yet driving bassline powers the groove along. They manage to keep the energy up, allowing the driving melodic house feel to shine thru over the many layers and textures to create a beautiful soundscape to round off this classy underground crowd pleaser. Essential stuff from Arnaud & Julian.

For the second rework we welcome French producer Narik to ICONYC Noir for his debut. His unique act and emotional creations carry quite a large scope. They are not afraid to explore esoteric or introspective themes and the end result is always a compelling one. Such is the case with their remix of ‘Kult’, which carries many of his most loved production hallmarks. From a warm, meaty low end to atmospherics and an effects storyboard to get lost in, there is certainly a lot to like. The main break is perhaps the high point, with the mood shifting from emotive to ominous with effortless ease. It’s something you rarely see and they pulled it off beautifully here.

The DARA’s ‘Kult’ shows that there’re no boundaries, as this beautiful deep melodic release will leave you with many smile induced moments! Not to be missed

MVMB & Emok broaden soundscape horizons with their new collab Aurora Borealis. Hovering somewhere between progressive trance and techno, a fluid fusion of liquid sound harnesses driving grooves and luminary energy, resulting in a forward-thinking and smooth style. This epic melody fragments off into two further swirls of sound in a While True and Tecnica remix, tapping into the spectrum of atmospherics in which this epic track can play out.

No marketing was done for this album. It is as natural as it can be. It will be lost in a void of emptiness, or will naturally flow like a river. Either way, I am happy that its out there.

Christina Gavrilova aka Forty Cats is one of a few female Russian producers whose tracks have been supported on the global stage.
