To start off the week we have some the greatest melodic tracks from the past week…
Ezequiel Arias returns to the label with three amazing originals.
Widely regarded as ‘the future of progressive house’, Cordoba’s primary musical export continues to impress on the world stage with a string of releases on luminary labels including Anjunadeep and Replug. With events now in full swing again, gigs in North and South America prove he’s lost none of his creativity and showmanship behind the decks. We look forward to what he’ll do next with baited breath.
Opening with ‘Magic Fields’ a tough rubbery groove gathers pace with claps, percussion and melodic layers organically flowing into the mix. Shimmering FX and grubby bass notes add style and grit in equal measures. Airy pads around the midpoint give a cinematic feel alongside the keys and off-kilter sonics that sound like bouncing balls before the beat hits and were back on solid ground. ‘Far Above The World’ continues apace with a tribal groove that quickly mutates with off-beat bass into a driving gem of epic proportions. Finally, ‘Arcadia’ completes the triptych with another melodic masterclass. Growing slowly over the opening section, icy keys and powerful low end grunt combine for a growling, musically diverse mindset stomper.
After the great success of their previous release on Area Verde we are happy to welcoback a collaboration of artists Redspace, project Eleene and Luis Ribalta to deliver their new release ‘Coming Closer’ on October the 29nd.
Weekend Heroes and Emok team up to bring us a new collabration titled ‘Third Planet’. Travelling along an emotive melodic lead line, Third Planet takes us on an introspective journey that spans the realms of Melodic House & Techno. Smooth, sophisticated and mysterious in character, this new alluring tune will pull you into its atmosphere with its unique gravity.
To close out the of October in style on ICONYC Noir we welcome back Australian based producer Balad with his brand new ‘Fractures EP’ to the label. Mazen aka Balad treats us to an aural symphony of progressive house sounds, fitting for any occasion and a wonderful way to say thank you for all the love and support we received all year.
The EP kicks off with the title track ‘Fractures’; a grooving deep progressive influenced house roller fusing chord stabs with manipulated string ensembles and clinical breaks influenced percussion that culminate into a club inspired piece of house music. Balad’s trademark beat maneuvering is prevailing, as all manner of elements drift in and out of earshot. Perfect for progressive loving club crowd and to get you in the mood for a big night out.
Next up we have ‘Reverent’, another fantastic deep progressive influenced track, interspersing with roomy filling beats and filtered chords. Balad manages to keep the energy up, allowing the driving house vibe to shine thru over the many layers and textures to create a beautiful soundscape, which exquisitely leads into the drop to round off this brilliant underground crowd pleaser. Need we say more?
Balad has developed a unique style which endeared him to us; having establishing his credentials as master of the craft, he showcases his talents by taking them a step further, displaying that there’re no boundaries. This amazing melodic gem guides you to a deep club sound laden, melodic hug of a release that will leave you with many smiles induced moments! Not to be missed. Another essential ICONYC Noir release made from the heart, for the dance loving soul.
Spring Tube’s 310th release delivers Ben Pierre from the UK who successfully debuted on our label with the tracks “Setting Sun” and “Shima” within the ‘Nu Breeds 20’ installment five months back.
Now Ben presents his first personal EP with us which includes the deep progressive house work “Laguna” and the progressive breaks track “Meridian”.
