To start off the week we have some the greatest melodic tracks from the past week…
Mikah returns to Lost on You with his latest EP, “Chemical Romance”, two exceptional tracks that will get you in the mood. This new release marks a change in sound for the German producer based on his years of continuous musical evolution, where Mikah delivers a masterclass of 2 original tracks.
The first track which bears the name of this EP, Mikah fuses Melodic House & Techno with Progressive adding some clinical string and percussion ensembles with a beautiful lead line, the effectiveness of his bass line will not go unnoticed. Chemical Romance’ is a monstrous track, where the hock of his vocals will hypnotize you all the way through, a perfect track for late-night club-inspired entertainment and get you in the mood for a great night out.
Next up is “Nebula”, a winning track with a sequenced line that hits the nail on the head right from the start. Adding a few warm sounds, which gives it a more oriental feel mixing the harmonies and the sound of the synths with an eloquent atmospheric effect that will transport you to another dimension. Mikah presents the formula for a left-field monster. Like something from yesteryear, but with a fresh sound.
The EP is a very accomplished piece of work that makes it clear that Mikah is a true master of his craft. With two exclusive tracks, the artist sends a clear message of emphatically sustained musical relevance to warm the soul that should not be missed.
Argentinean Dynacom returns to ICONYC 3 years to the day for his 2nd release. His last outing back of October 2018 was received to high acclaim – with huge support from the big boy brigade at the time. With his long-awaited return to ICONYC, Dynacom delivers a slice of late summer vibes titled ‘Lost Boy’. The original mix kicks things off nicely with its melancholic moodiness shining through melodic inspired deep beats and harmonies are in full swing. The track twists effortlessly throughout. It’s all about the groove, cool vibes that are working their magic around the wonderfully arranged keys that create an irresistible vibe.
On remix duty we welcome the mighty Renato Cohen. The Brazilian producer, who has seen his work released on some of the world’s finest labels certainly needs no introduction. Renato created a rework full of tension from the word go, as the indie stimulated vibe keeps you moving with warm pinging sounds, a smooth edge and some nicely effected sounding pieces. We basically have the formula for a bit of a monumental outing. The sparseness is the key here, as this restrained gem works its magic while it plays away, creating a warm glow, creating an air of sophistication while the groove keeps you moving. “Essential stuff!”
To close out the release we welcome Russian duo HIGHLITE, who are known for their polished, indie influenced sound. They keep the theme of the original alive, as the pulsating bass powers along, before its drum fills and general warmth all combine to do the talking. This mystical touch up takes the energy levels up a notch, but increases the melancholy with stripped back and lucid elements at the same time, before the luscious pads grace the rework changing the vibe and creating a blanket of warmth that wraps around the effected groove.
