To start off the week we have some the greatest melodic tracks from the past week…

Australian superstar, Jamie Stevens joins Sudbeat for his debut release, ‘4 Shadows EP’.

With over 20 years in the scene, Jamie, formerly of 90’s supergroup Infusion, continues to develop his sound and deliver incredible music time and again. A regular in the DJ booths of London, New York, Tokyo and all points inbetween, his incendiary sets are the talk of the town. Much like his productions, they are heartfelt and full of soul. Just like the man himself.

Opening with ‘4 Shadows’ a subtle tribal groove gives way to bell melodies and shimmers. Wondrous and deeply woven, the groove whisks you away before you even realise what’s happened. Equally, ‘Grey Skies’ on the flipside is expertly crafted and deep. A rolling offbeat bass picks up the pace as sparse percussion and funky foley sounds create a groove of epic proportions. The breaks are spacious and languid, giving calm respite to the explosive beat.

After a great success with her previous releases on Pillar Records Label, we are glad to welcome back Mary Mesk with her new release ‘Resonance’ on October the 1st!

Alex Tolstey, also known as Alex Boshke, is a producer and DJ whose career in electronic music spans over 25 years. As a founder of Boshke Beats Records, Alex executed more than 250 releases and is renowned in the global trance and techno community. Known for his vision of uniting trance and techno and his work with artists who create fresh fusions in sounds, Alex follows the same visionary direction as IbogaTech in pioneering cross-border electronic music. Following the success of the first edition of his ‘The Outlaws’ compilation, Alex breaks the laws once again with Volume 2 of this exciting musical menagerie, brining us a juicy selection of 11 stylistically uninhibited, genre-defying tunes.

Ritchie Haydn returns to the label this time around in collaboration with famed vocalist Medusa. His last outing back in December of 2020 was received to high acclaim – with huge support from the big boy brigade at the time. With his long-awaited return to ICONYC Noir, Ritchie delivers a slice of late summer vibes titled ‘Caught Up’ featuring the wonderful vocals of Medusa.

Ritchie & Medusa kicks things off nicely with the melancholic moodiness of the original, as deep progressive inspired beats and harmonies are in full swing. The track twists effortlessly throughout, while Medusa’s sultry vocals sit wonderfully on top adding an extra layer of depth. It’s all about the groove, cool vibes and the suave beats that are working their magic around Ritchie’s wonderfully arranged keys and Medusa’s voice, that create an irresistible vibe while taking the mind on a trip. A classy homecoming for Ritchie and a wonderful debut for Medusa.

On remix duty we welcome once again Arnaud Cordova & Julian Liander who are known for their polished deep sound. They keep the ethereal theme of the original alive, as the pulsating bass powers along, before its drum fills and general warmth all combine to do the talking. Like something from yesteryear, yet sounding fresh – Their touch up takes the energy levels up a notch, but increases the melancholy with stripped back and lucid elements at the same time, before the luscious pads grace the rework changing the vibe and creating a blanket of warmth that wraps around the effected groove.

MXV, who needs no introduction around these shores created a rework full of tension from the word go. MXV delivers a trademark electronica-soaked rework with infectious chords, laidback drums and smooth breakdown. The stimulated vibe keeps you moving with warm tinkling sounds thrown in for good measure. We basically have the formula for a bit of a monumental outing. The sparseness is the key here, as this restrained gem works its magic while it plays away, creating a warm glow, creating an air of sophistication. “Essential stuff”

With ‘Caught Up’ Ritchie Haydn & Medusa really show that there’re no boundaries, as this beautiful gem guides you to a full-on melodic hug of a release that will cause many smiles induced moments! ‘Caught Up’ sees a worldwide release on October 1st, 2021 via every well-known digital content provider. Not to be missed.

Next up on Solarii, an original from Yves Eaux called ‘Heritage’, with remix support from Samuel L. Sessions.

Breaking onto the scene back in 2005, Yves Eaux continues the long tradition of Dutch multi-genre artists with music signed to multiple high profile labels across a dizzying spectrum, from Armada Subjekt, Unity Records to Black Hole Recordings. A jetset DJ with a charismatic sound, he has shared top billing with everyone from Sasha to Kevin Saunderson, Joris Voorn, Stefano Noferini and Pleasurekraft.

In original form, ‘Heritage’ bristles from the off. Snappy hats and a rumbling low end lead the way toward spiky synths and powerful dark energy. Building up to the main break, spoken words add a new layer while the beat is filtered out for a punchy finalé. On remix duties, Swedish techno mainstay Samuel L Session brings his considerable studio talent to bare, completely redesigning the bass and melodics for a warm, mid-set bruiser.
