Today we have some of the tech releases from the past week that have been making some noise…
Italian pioneer Francesco Farfa has been an influence for generations. His incredible dj skills along with a futuristic taste made him one of the most important artists who dedicated their craft to the evolution of house music and derivates.
Creator of pure goldies such as “Universal Love” or “The Search”, supported by Hernan Cattaneo himself in the legendary Perfecto South America compilation, Farfa joins Sudbeat with a outer world breakbeat produced with Sandro S. Known for his collaborations with LostRocket and as Binary Bros, Sandro has a solid back catalogue of work on seminal labels such as Defected, King Street Sounds and more.
In Original form, ‘Purple Break’ has an uptempo breaks vibe. Far Eastern synth layers add mystery alongside wonky FX and one shots.
Remix side shines with some great re interpretations. Starting the list are label heads Cattaneo & Raffa who begin with a 4/4 beat darkening the vibe and teasing the original motifs throughout to create tension.
Joy Kitikonti, eclectic, true, highly gifted artist, whose visionary skills have been showcased in his 30+ more years career, got to the stars with hits like “Joyenergizer” or his remix for Armand Van Helden’s “My My My”, making his name solidly standing into the list of dj booth’s Italian finest since the time of his residencies in historical dancefloors like Insomnia or Jaiss, real club music temples in the 90’s and 00’s for thousands of Italian clubbers.
He joins the “Purple Break” EP with two incredible takes. Firstly the ‘club mix’ is a moody deep trance ride harking back to his roots on BXR with Mauro Picotto. The second mix, named ‘Retrowave’ is ’80s new wave meets italo disco and emphasises the melodic elements of the original expertly well.
Closing the list is Ozen Nouse taking things into dubby zone with his remix, takeing the track into melodic techno waters deepening the groove even more and making the main hooks almost aquatic.
After their huge success at the end of 2020 with their debut release on SHAPESHIFT Records ‘Loaded’, Abu Dhabi based production duo and DJ’s MONKEYE are back to kick off 2021 the right way with their new tech house release ‘Take My Feelin’ Featuring the original vocal talents of Hamama.
‘Take My Feelin’ contains all the right ingredients for a tech house anthem in the making. Warm low end, infectious percussion, a killer lead and a vocal that will get stuck in your head for months. This is a no brainer for tech house DJ’s who want to sizzle up their live performances.
MONKEYE have made quite the impact since exploding onto the Tech House scene just four years ago, getting big support with their recent releases from the likes of Mark Knight, Gene Ferris, Judge Jules, My Digital Enemy, Next State, Bexxie, David Torte, Plaztik and many more.
For the second release of the year we want to share with you this hot collaboration between Mexican artist Andruss alongside Spanish producer Juarez.
