Today we have some of the hottest new melodic House & techno releases…
Canada’s Tim Penner joins the label with the sensational ‘Counting Sails EP’.
Toronto-based Tim Penner broke onto the scene back in 2011 and quickly rose through the ranks to have music signed to JOOF, Replug, microCastle and more culminating in his Beatport #1 album in November last year, and a coveted Mixmag Album of the Month accolade. Beginning his own label, Slideways, in 2014 he diversified seamlessly into behind the scenes business as well as continuing to excite the crowds with his incendiary DJ sets. An artist dedicated to the intricacies of production fuelled by his passion and love for music.
Opening with ‘Counting Sails’, dark textures, sparse percussion and airy pads create a rich tapestry of sound ebbing and flowing with the beat. Reaching fever pitch midway, wonky bells and nuanced FX add tension. On ‘Flight of Antibes’, field recordings and found sounds create a unique texture and feel.
Before we shift our focus to end of year proceedings, we have one more treat for you in store. Allies for Everyone returns to ICONYC with a stunning 2 tracker, accompanied by a colossal remix from Beatfreak head honcho D-Formation. AFE who needs no introduction to the ardent listener, has been a regular on some of the world’s finest labels with his progressive and melodic techno influenced driving productions. On his return he delivers 2 gorgeous originals in the form of the title track Faux Love and Through the Wall which also gets the D-Formation remix treatment.
The opening track ‘Through the Wall’ with its expansive synth chords generate a driving rhythm before the atmospheric pads and AFE’s voice take over to create a beautiful setting.
DM-Theory takes us on a DMT inspired journey with his debut album ‘Breakthrough’. Taking us beyond words to a place of bliss, this propulsive trip invites us to leave the world as we know it behind and explore new dimensions. This rollercoaster of a ride features a kaleidoscopic list of 10 tracks, 6 of which are further texturised by collaborations with Boundless, MVMB, Jossie Telch, Tecnica, Synesthetic and Audio Anonymous. The result is vibrant, high potency dance floor aimed tunes that embody the sound of new worlds yet to be discovered, and the best way to breakthrough and get to them, is by moving intrepidly along with the overpowering groove of the experience. For a first album, DM-Theory is getting off to a flying start.
4/4 EP series continues with #52 on 1980 Recordings.
We have 3 lovely melodic progressive house tracks from False Intentions, Jakobii & Sean Harvey. Whilst Gabriel Dancer gives you that kick of jackin tech house we all need.
Fire for all dancefloor occasions.
Abstract Space Records are glad to unveil ‘After Tomorrow’ EP from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina based Fake Lab. The original is packed with a classic drum set flowing smoothly with a vintage lead synth makes everything go maestoso. The remix is from Area Verde featured MRTNZ who hails from Valencia and gives a rather sumptuous aura depicting the original theme. A powerful club weapon EP indeed!
Wal & Dan step forward with a relaxing new track called “White shore” released on 2Dutch Deep! “White Shore” is just perfect for listening to from home, at work, or in the car. The relaxing melancholic vibes and the dreamy vocals make this track so great, its almost as if you’re in another world. The Hungarian duo would like to know what you think of the new song.
With ‘The Release’ Ritchie Haydn makes his long-awaited debut on ICONYC Noir. Ritchie delivers a slice of warm, pulsating club vibes. The track kicks things off nicely with its melancholic moodiness shining through as we meander effortlessly through club inspired melodies, while the sultry bassline sits wonderfully on top, adding an extra layer of depth and class. Ritchie means business and it is evident with every step of the way. Essential stuff!
On remix duty we are very excited to welcome Rick Pier O Neil who also marks his debut on the label with a classy remix for the ages. The French producer who is known for his deep melodic progressive influenced sounds, keeps the ethereal theme of the original alive. It’s all about the groove, cool house vibes and the deep driving beats that are working their magic around RPO’s wonderfully arranged keys and the wonderful use of elements on offer. RPO once again has reminded us with his classy rework why we are so fond of him.
