Sudbeat Showcrates 9
No parties doesn’t mean no music so after a short break the Showcrates series returns for a 9th chapter with the usual combination of new artists and labels habitués all focused to deliver a proper sonic experience!
Paul Unkel delivers yet another crisp production, as can be expected after several releases which have downright made the point. ‘Follow’ maintains an air of smooth composure and clear direction throughout, drifting into a pleasant hypnotic groove in the lightest of ways imaginable.
No muss, no fuss, just clear cut progressive techno. Yet again, he hits the spot.
Next on ICONYC sees the return of Alex O’Rion with the reworked 2020 edit of his smash hit ‘Navagio’. The talented Dutch producer has been a well-known entity within the scene and has graced some of the world’s finest electronic music labels with his unique and lasting productions. Hailing from Amsterdam, Alex, developed a unique style of music, full of ambiances, paired with despondent and warm dreamy patterns that guided him to where he is to today and embodies the sound he now personifies.
Alex leads with the outstanding rework of his timeless ‘Navagio’ track; a stunning driving melodic progressive house affair. The track utilizes a deep groove as foundation, underpinned by a profound bass and smooth synth chords that gradually ease their way to the summit. Unified by a relentless kick drum and dusky atmospheric emotion, the composition climaxes by adding recurrent percussive elements and soft soaked melodies that come together to create a structured sphere of sonic satisfaction.
This tremendous single by the artist Moritz Hofbauer contains two explosive songs full of sound force.
Arpeggiated synth melodies that hug and lift you along with punchy bass.
All very structured and with a sequencing that makes you enjoy all its groove.

With ‘Home’ we welcome back Brazilian D. Marco to the label. D.Marco delivers a totally irresistible creation of moody basslines, eerie electric wizardry, seductive echoing and a rocking vocal. Showing off D. Marco’s signature soaring synths and lust-filled melodies that make for an Infectious blend of romance and debauchery. ‘Home’ is dance floor gold in the purest sense, making it a ground-breaking soundtrack for the autumn, which should not be missed!
Next up we have ‘Illusion’ a moody and groovy driven tune with a cheeky vibe that leaves a long-lasting impression and will get any dance floor thrilled. A perfect example of how D. Marco is able to revitalize dated sounds and give them new shine, adding a stunning Jupiter 8 synth bassline combined with a long ethereal pad, which rounds off the release perfectly and feels like the monumental end to a great night out.

Abstract Space Record Label head Phalguna Somraj is back in style with a classic progressive slice ‘Teresita’, a dashing melodic piece. This one blasts out a pure progressive cloud with its entrancing melodic pluck along with deep bassline. Packed with a majestic drumcode and the mesmerizing chords along with energetic leads it bounces brilliantly. A magical gem Indeed!
Next on ICONYC Noir we welcome M0B & Hannes Wiehager to the label with ‘Quasar’. Hailing from Brazil & Sweden respectively, the duo drops by with a lovely progressive and melodic techno influenced track, which is easily one of their best body of works to date.
The original mix features rich driving textures; as well as euphoric and moody progressive melodic techno vibes to satisfy clubbing, uplifting and feel good needs, which are the keywords for this beautiful and extraordinary release. Utilizing a hypnotizing groove as the basis of the mix underpinned by a staccatoed bass that gradually eases its way to the breakdown of breaks percussive elements before unleashing into a rising melodic hook intertwined with the infectious groove that fades in and out for maximum effect. A sure winner. Essential stuff!
Marcelo Ignacio delivers a gem of a remix with his dance floor-oriented rework.
Eze Colombo, Ram-J and Sheism deliver the an amazing three-tracker in the form of “DIFFERENT CODE”.
The guys certainly do not need a special introduction as their previous releases and appearances on Perfecto, Stripped, Vesta all speak for themselves.
Starting the release the guys deliver the main track “Different Code” which is a powerful peak time progressive monster fused with a snippet of techno elements to add a bit of a twisted vibe into it.
“Tension” is a more building up affair with a relentless groove which keep adding more elements on every turn and as the track progresses there are more and more synth and stabs rushing in the mix alongside some spaced out effects to keep the hypnotic vibe high.
“The Late Rain” rounds things off with a deeper and sinister vibe with its growling bass line and sinister stabs and rhythmic synth lines as the clean and punchy drums build up a driving groove underneath it all.
