To start off the week we have some the greatest melodic tracks from the past week…
First EP for Nicolas Rada on Sudbeat with a sensational selection. The Argentinean continues to impress with ever more interesting and daring music. Clear are the improvements on every release he drops as solo artists or in collaboration with the Bristol titan Nick Warren. So much so that his influences such as Hernan Cattaneo, Danny Howells, Guy J and, of course, Warren himself, have now become peers and high profile fans. ‘Satori’ opens his account here, a deeply satisfying groover that showcases his prolific talents in the studio. Delicate pads waft into earshot nestling against the sparse percussive body of the track whispering of delights to come. On ‘No Matter What’ Rada ups the pressure with a nagging sawtoothed bass and eerie echoing vocal shots. Dubby and spacious, its cinematic feel belies its epicness.
Next up on ICONYC welcome back Italian maestro Christian Bonori in collaboration with Aves Volare with their latest smash ‘Another World’. With outstanding releases on labels like Suara, Stil vor Talent, Einmusika, Yoshitoshi and Jannowitz to name a few, the duo has developed a unique style; a dynamic, groovy, deep and hypnotic fusion of genres that perfectly fits in any kind of club or open-air festival. The enigmatic duo has seen a rise to fame thru the regular output of quality productions. On their return to ICONYC Christian & Aves treat us to the spectacular ‘Another World’. A grooving deep, melodic house roller, fusing gentle chord stabs with subtle string ensembles, clinical percussion and that outstanding vocal from Aves Volare. The beautiful driving lead line of ‘Another World’ pared with Christian’s trademark beat manipulation culminates into a club inspired piece of house music for the ages
Glenn Molloy makes his debut on our label with a stunning progressive affair titled “Malfunctions” and the sole remix marks yet another debut – this one is from Soulfinder! The original mix kicks things off with the thick beats and driving synth arp while slowly the uplifting pads and strings and synth stabs make their way into the mix along with more percussive elements evolving throughout the track while the deep and pulsating bass line rounds things off nicely. Soulfinder goes a bit more techy with his remix as the groove is powerful and driving but with a clever use of the original melodic parts and adding his own lines he manages to keep the vibe and still breathing in his remix its life.
In our world, there are immutable rules of physics, including the property of defraction of light. Whether we are on our planet or in a distant galaxy, diffraction is present everywhere and everywhere.
