Pavel Petrov’s first release in more than half a year and a debut on his own imprint, he comes forward with a massive 3 track EP. True to his style and yet innovative, he is setting the direction for what comes ahead.
Italian-born, Graziano Raffa is Hernan’s right hand man at the label and an accomplished artist in his own right. From playing all over the world with the titans of the scene, he’s also hosted a successful radio show, Southside, for over 3 years and put some of his music on the field with releases on Sudbeat, Balance Music, Plattenbank and so on continuing the list today with two new cuts. ‘Breathe’ opens with a subtle tribal feel and bumpy bass. Melodics soon take over adding depth and intrigue. As the main motifs swell to crescendo breakbeats take the track in new directions. On the flipside, ambience opens ‘Meltdown’. ’80s-inspired synths lead the way as a bouncy bass adds traction. Building slowly, Raffa adds more percussive tones to the melodics for a wondrous sonic journey.
We are delighted to welcome Allies for Everyone & Ballad with their brand-new ‘Cut the Lines EP’ to ICONYC. The talented duo has been a well-known entity within the scene and have graced some of the world’s finest electronic music labels with their unique and lasting productions. The duo developed an inimitable style of music, full of ambiances, paired with despondent and warm dreamy patterns that guided them to where they are to today and embodies the sound they now personify. People regularly equate their productions as opaque and vivid in equal measures.
On their debut the duo leads with the outstanding opening track ‘Waking’; a stunning driving melodic progressive house affair. The track utilizes a deep groove as foundation, underpinned by a profound bass and smooth synth chords that gradually ease their way to the summit.
The mysterious space duo ‘Green Lake Project’ take off on their latest journey into the cosmos. Their intergalactic explorations see them making jumps through the space-sound continuum – with three notable stops along the way. These points in sound can only be expressed through sonic synthesisers and otherworldly beat dynamics, the signals of which we have solidified into one concentrated message titled ‘Neptune’s Orbit’. Space techno at its finest lands on planet IbogaTech.
Our next release comes from Stevie Robinson AKA Soul Revolver and he graces us with a superb release where he fuses house, progressive and Balearic beats and melodies. The original mix of “The Flow” is a chord driven deeper groover with a hypnotic vibe and a few vocal snippets that add the extra bit on the top of the sharp beats and cleverly used synth stabs that add extra depth to the whole track. The New York House Mix of “The Flow” is a more stripped down and slightly more percussive interpretation but equally driving and aimed at those bigger, louder and darker rooms where the groove owns your mind. Wrapping up this release is “This Sound” which is fusion of house beats and driving chord crescendos while the deep and pulsating bass line fuses perfectly along with the cleverly programmed percussion and drums. Definitely one for the coming summer gigs as the clubbing scene slowly opens up after the global lock down.
