ANNOUCMENT FROM FACEBOOK – 1st July 2020
Now more than ever the traditional notion of a creator is evolving to include artists and other personalities that use video and online events to connect with their audiences. To better support our partners, we’re improving the tools that help creators earn money and manage their presence on Facebook.
Helping Artists & Creators Monetize
Artists can now earn money with a growing variety of products best suited to the content they share and the communities they’ve built, and we’ll be continuing to focus on expanding these offerings. We’ve seen tremendous interest from people wanting to support their favorite artists, and we’re now making both Fan Subscriptions and Stars available more broadly.
Fan Subscriptions – Your artist’s fans can now show their support through a monthly subscription that gives access to exclusive non-music content such as Q&As and behind-the-scenes videos, and other benefits. Any Page in these markets that meets our eligibility criteria can now sign up here. Please note that at this time, content that includes music is not available in fan subscriptions.
Stars – Fans can buy and send Stars in the comments of a video, and creators earn 1 cent for every Star received. Stars is a great way for fans to show their support and reward the artist for building a loyal fanbase. Creators in these markets can apply for beta access here.
Helping Artists Manage Their Facebook Presence
In Creator Studio, we’re expanding our video insights to include Live and Stars performance, and we added a new Video Details Explorer dashboard, which includes Traffic Sources Insights for each video. We’ve also added hourly metrics for the first 48 hours after a video is published. And in the Creator Studio app, we recently added the ability to publish and schedule Facebook posts right from the app.
