To start off the week we have some the greatest melodic tracks from the past week…
Making their joint debut on the label, Acumen and Pontias join forces with a chunky 3-tracker – ‘Dream Economy EP’. Production duo Acumen and Pontias have had successes on Chapter 24 and Thrill Of It, as well as working on music together on Time Has Changed. Each brings a wealth of experience and studio skill to bare on these tracks. Starting with ‘Dream Economy’ a sparse beat keeps time as sparkly arps chime. Percussive tones add weight before the deep rolling bass finally ties everything together. Growing organically, layers of melody lift the mood and energy significantly. Next, ‘Vagabond Sunday’ opens with a loose tribal groove and haunting pad. Arps again breathe life into the sparse arrangement growing the track into a solid mid-set groover. Finally, ‘The Tongue Language’ drives from a bass-led groove from the first bar. Understated but highly engaging, it weaves a deeply satisfying trail through the darker recesses of progressive house with a thoroughly modern slant.
The second release on Secret Reality is 3 tracks EP from Tvardovsky. Full melodic stack included, very atmospheric and techy. Enjoy.
Bennun and Healey cement their position as the dons of super-produced deeply psychedelic techno, with this latest brace of tunes on their massive 3 track EP, road-tested at events across the globe from Envision Festival, Costa Rica to Rainbow Serpent, Australia. Beacon’s funky infectious and deeply hypnotic groove sets up Tim’s intimate vocals that invite the listener into a false sense of melodic bliss before unleashing a techno onslaught primed for dance floor decimation. Boom For Real is their tribute to artist JM Basquiat, a dance floor bomb engineered for peak-time club mayhem. Fusing Georgian folk music with deeply trippy dubbed out synth sounds and bombastic bass manoeuvres. An otherworldly atmosphere washes across your speakers before savage synth lines and the undeniably insistent groove punches home.
The 140th release marks the debut on the label for GabiM and Emze Hack and their superb collaboration track “Clarity” while GabiM goes solo to round up this release! “Clarity” is an undeniably smooth progressive track with plenty of warm pads to and more aggressive synth sounds to shape things up to a more peak time vibe while the powerful bass line ties things up to a perfect mixture of emotive yet powerful piece of modern electronic dance music. GabiM’s solo effort “Love It In The Dark” is muscular progressive track which keeps one foot into more techno territories with its potent bass line and crisp ans sharp beats while dynamic soundscapes and lush pads add things up on the emotive side while rolling synth lines and spaced out effects build things up create your next dancefloor weapon.
