In these unprecedented and trying times, the global electronic music scene — which is inherently reliant on close, personal connections with the music we love and those around us — is in dire straits. Gig cancellations have rocked scene to its very foundation, as artists, promoters, and so many others who work in live events watch as their livelihood disappears.
Despite this, artists, industry leaders, and dedicated fans are coming together to develop creative solutions to help us through this global crisis.
For our part, Beatport Live is planning a massive, 24-hour streaming event called ReConnect, which will feature 24 artists performing live from personal studios or living rooms, where they’re riding out the pandemic.
Teaming up with AFEM (Association For Electronic Music), all the TIPS collected on the Twitch live stream will be donated to charitable organizations that will help alleviate the financial burden that coronavirus has imposed upon so many in the electronic music community. Further donations will be given directly to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, a WHO-led effort to respond to the pandemic and help send essential supplies and personal protective equipment to frontline health workers.
Join us in celebrating in our scene.
