Today we have hand-picked some of the best melodic tunes from the week…

After his incredible debut on our recent Essentials compilation, we are delighted to bring you a full solo EP from the impressive Simeon Fuchs. He may be a fairly new name to many, but Simeon has worked in the music industry for many years as a DJ, producer and professional sound engineer. He also represented Croatia and Slovakia at the Burn Residency in Ibiza, and has performed in the Czech Republic for Sensation White among others. Opening the EP is ‘Anunnaki’, a bright and breezy deep progger. Beginning with a snappy machine groove, the melodics really take charge during the main break and power the track to the last bar. Next up the lazy grooves of ‘Voices of Caves’ work perfectly against the twisted sweeps and edgy FX before the main melody lifts the mood. Proper mind music. Finally, the wrap up the EP is ‘Berlin is Calling’. Moody and melodic, the Teutonic charm on this is set to 11. Skippy hats keep time as the cascading key lines create tension and atmosphere.

When a track comes in entitled ‘Eighties’ we would be silly not to sign it to 1980 Recordings. This is a super cool progressive track with selected sounds nodding to the Eighties. On the remix we have personally selected ‘Ingemann’ to bring his Scandinavian progressive house sound to the release. Then we have ‘Standard Issue’ who takes it a bit deeper but still bring a progressive flavour.
