Dubai-based Darko De Jan returns to Transpecta with an impressive double-header – Praeneste and Ceres – with remix duties fulfilled by the ultra-talented Zoo Brazil.
Resident DJ at 7-star Burj Al Arab’s world-famous 27th Floor bar, De Jan’s productions can be found on a myriad of high-profile labels. Taking his inspiration from an ancient Roman city made famous for the worship of the goddess of prosperity, Praeneste is a glorious melodic journey taking in nuanced synths, pleasing percussive tones and a spoken word vocal sample of hope and spirituality.
The second original track, Ceres, draws its creativity from a dwarf planet in the asteroid belt lying between Mars and Neptune. Deeper and more sinewy, its drive comes from the interplay between the melodic motifs and the crisp percussive underbelly.
Our pick here is the remix from Zoo Brazil , who up the ante with a bouncier, juicier vibe exploring the main themes of the original and concentrating them on the dance floor.
